Watermelons can also be used for dressing seafood like crab salad to make a healthy and wholesome lunch. Spicy watermelons, sprinkled with either pico de gallo seasoning (a chili-mixture available in Latin American markets) or an Asian chili salt (a mixture of salt and chilies available in Asian markets, such as the Vietnamese Bon Bon brand) are hot snacking items. Watermelons, in combination with dry sake (Japanese wine), make an excellent sorbet. Smoothies of watermelons are teamed up with various fruity flavors especially strawberries. Watermelon pies and other forms of its desserts are just too irresistible! Watermelon rinds can be pickled, barbecued or even made into salad with ginger and grenadine. These preparations can be made easily without any hassles and do not consume much time. These amazing varieties of watermelons can easily lure us to change our diet patterns.

Besides, most workingwomen find watermelon diet convenient both in terms of preparation time and health. So check out this new trend of food as well as lifestyle introduced by watermelons. Tahiti: a different tempo

Posted by Wealth Group | 11:03 AM | 0 comments »

Snorkel in the warm azure waters of the lagoon, head to the spa for a coconut and avocado body scrub and an exotic flower bath, or relax on the deck of your private over water bungalow and order another tropical fruit cocktail?

Rarely does life present us with such deliciously difficult decisions. And after months of hectic wedding planning, these are the only sorts of decisions you and your new husband will want to make. For a honeymoon that is truly sublime, head northeast towards the equator until you find Tahiti and its 118 islands.

Scattered across five far-flung archipelagos and covering four million square kilometres of ocean, Bride had the enviable task of sampling this corner of the South Pacific. After a week in this land of warm waters, tropical weather, rich culture and delectable cuisine, we know why it is such a coveted honeymoon destination.

Gateway to the archipelago

As our Air Tahiti Nui plane descends towards Papeete, the capital of Tahiti, a collective gasp rolls through the cabin. Emerging from the emerald sea are cloud-draped mountains, plunging valleys and pristine beaches which appear to run on forever. And if the beauty of the scenery isn't welcome enough, the warmth of the locals is.

Tahiti is renowned for the hospitality of its people. On arrival at our hotel, the InterContinental Resort Tahiti, we are greeted with song and the sounds of the ukulele and guitar. Smiling Polynesian women in traditional dress entertain us with traditional dancing and swathe us with colourful garlands of flowers featuring Tahiti's national flower, the tiare.

A great place to commence your Tahitian sojourn, Tahiti offers visitors numerous treasures including a bustling market where you will discover multi-coloured pareos (sarongs), local handcrafts and luscious vanilla soaps and lotions.

During our stay, the sun rarely leaves the sky and the breeze barely rouses the flat crystal waters. While this is a typical day for this part of the world - the temperature varies between 26 and 28 degrees all year round - our guide warns us of the occasional bout of tropical rain. However, all is not lost if it does rain as there are scores of art and history museums waiting to be explored. Particularly worth a visit is the Paul Gauguin Museum. Located in a spacious garden, the museum is a memorial to the artist famed for his portrayal of island life.

If your idea of a honeymoon involves activity and adventure, you will be hard pressed to find a more extreme excursion than a climb through the lava tubes of Hitiaa. Situated on the rocky east coast, volcanic eruptions have forged channels through the rock. Over time, these have been penetrated by water and stunning waterfalls gush through the eroded sections. You will need a reliable pair of shoes, a guide that knows the area and some quiet determination.

After our extreme hiking experience, it is time to chill out. We fell in love with the laid-back Polynesian approach to life at the InterContinental Resort Tahiti. With two infinity pools, a swim-up bar, dancing shows and choice of restaurants and cuisines, it rarely gets much better than this.

Moreish Moorea

Bidding the mainland farewell, we take a 45-minute ferry ride to the island of Moorea - Tahiti's sister island.

Moorea looks good enough to eat. Literally! On a four-wheel-drive trip around the island, we sample the plentiful papayas, mangoes, wild bananas, breadfruit, limes and watermelons that thrive in the volcanic soil. But the pick of the island's fruit salad is the deliciously sweet pineapple. Best sampled straight off the plant, our guide tells us the sugar content is so high they turn bad within 48 hours. This explains why you won't find them in your local supermarket and is all the more reason to devour as many as your tummy can handle.

Stop at one of the many black pearl boutiques scattered throughout Moorea. While your new husband might think wedding and engagement rings are all the jewellery a woman needs, you can't go home without a Tahitian pearl encircling your finger or dripping from your neck. Unique to the pristine lagoon habitat, the pearls come in a range of colours such as aubergine, reddish-bronze, shimmering green or steel grey.

Moorea is also the home of the InterContinental Resort Moorea's Dolphin Centre, which is located amid the lush surrounds of the InterContinental Beachcomber Resort's estate. You will touch, play and communicate with these magnificent creatures in the shallows of the lagoon before donning a diving mask to observe their grace underwater. Your guide will teach you all about these intelligent mammals and will provide you with a souvenir photo of you and your new flippered friends.

After a tough day playing with dolphins, snorkelling, jet-skiing or scuba diving, you can mollify your muscles with a deep tissue massage or a soothing wrap at Moorea's Hélène Spa. The spa treatments take advantage of Tahiti's plentiful flowers, fruits and plants and are freshly prepared with oils and exotic essences. For a particularly opulent treatment, soak in a traditional Tahitian flower bath set in the green surrounds of one of the spa's private treatment rooms.

The lagoons of Bora Bora

It pains us to leave Moorea. That is, until our light plane lands in Bora Bora. With its sparkling lagoons in all hues of blue, velvety sand and coral gardens filled with rainbow coloured fish, Bora Bora is indisputably Tahiti's most beautiful island.

The island is best experienced from the vantage point of your own over water bungalow. We stayed at InterContinental Moana Beach Resort where each bungalow boasts a glass-bottomed coffee table, which can be opened up allowing you to feed bread to the many fish that swarm beneath.

Lash out and order room service, which is brought to your private deck on an outrigger canoe. Then spend the day exploring the lagoons by canoe, snorkelling or people-watching from a hammock strung between towering coconut trees.

For a memorable experience, take a boat trip to a nearby sandbar where you can hand feed stingray in waist-deep water. Despite what you expect, stingrays rarely sting. And the feeling of these metre-wide grey beauties slipping and sliding up your legs is indescribable. If you are brave enough, offer a morsel of raw fish and watch as one gently accepts it from your fingers.

From there, ask your guide to take you to the deeper waters for some manta ray spotting. Our guide throws fresh meat into the water before directing us to jump in and see the fish. We oblige and join the thousands of fish that come to feed. Our fun is short-lived, however, as we look down and see 10 to 12 sharks circling below. Despite our guide's assurances that reef sharks are not partial to human flesh, our heartbeats don't slow until we are back aboard the safety of our boat.

Even if water sports are not usually your thing, be sure to take a jet ski tour around the island. At first terrifying, you will soon by shrieking with delight as you master the powerful machines. After a few hours bouncing over the waves of the lagoon, we guarantee you will be a petrol head by the time your tour is over.

After all this aquatic activity you will be hungry. A traditional Tahitian picnic on a motu - the Tahitian word for 'little island' - is a must. While we swim in the turquoise water, local chefs cook a feast fit for royalty. And as you might expect in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, seafood is on the menu.

Cooked in earth ovens, we savour fresh and fleshy perch, parrotfish, barracuda, mahi-mahi and more, flavoured with Tahiti's famous vanilla beans and soused in creamy coconut milk. Following the old 'when in Rome' adage, we eat with our hands from hand-woven vine leaf plates. Food seems to taste even better in paradise.

And while on the topic of Tahitian cuisine, be sure to visit the island's best-known restaurant Bloody Mary's. With its sandy floor, tree-stump seating and fire lighting, you'll feel like you are on the set of Survivor. Except this is one island you won't want to be voted off. There is no official menu. Instead, diners choose from a seafood selection delivered daily by local fisherman. While your choice of fish is being cooked to perfection, sip a Bloody Mary - the restaurant's signature beverage.

The only downside of Tahiti as a honeymoon destination is the cost: accommodation, food and drinks are very expensive. But hey, you only get married once - or maybe twice.

And with a smorgasbord of things to see and do including whale watching, snorkelling, scuba diving, playing golf, horse riding, bike riding, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, jet skiing, water skiing, caving, fishing, black pearl and handcraft shopping, swimming with dolphins and manta ray, observing the world beneath in a glass bottom boat - you'll want to extend your honeymoon, forever.

I had a week on Nukubati Island Resort Labasa, as part of my honeymoon and I thought it was absolutely amazing. Whilst being greeted by hotel staff on the beach is quite commonplace in the South Pacific, this was something else.

Their voices are so harmonious, and apart from our welcome song, there were ice cool flannels, and welcoming drinks, and boy did we need them!! We had read reports which included quotes like "Most romantic hotel in the South Pacific." And we very quickly realised why.

It is important to be aware that this is an all inclusive resort, and we were looking for all inclusive adult only hotels for our South Pacific Honeymoon.

This is the perfect escape with no phones, no television just serious relaxation.

Jetlag can spoil the first few days of a vacation especially when you are close to the international dateline, and having to conform to meal times isn't what you want to do. We need not have worried, because we discovered after sleeping in almost all day after arriving, that you can pretty well eat when you want to. We were brought champagne and canapés, and then we had a wonderful seafood meal, and tons of fresh vegetables which we discovered were literally from the back garden!!

We could have eaten in our honeymoon bure all the time, but the dining room was a real treat with tablecloths, candlelight, fresh flowers, looking out onto the beach, and views you can't really do justice to here.

If you want to see photographs then go to

Fiji and the Pacific islands in general are so lush, and not without reason. It is because of the amount of rain, but it is such warm rain, and it hits you so hard it is totally exhilarating to be out in. I'd never realised before now how much fun swimming in the rain can be!!

Above all it was the superb service, and the attention to detail that we loved. The little things we observed like the mosquito repellent burner at your dinner table, the water tray at the door of the bure, so you don't bring sand in. The boat bringing you in, takes you to the beach outside your bure, and there would have been a towel on your seat on the boat to stop you from burning yourself.

We attended Sunday church in the local village, and the singing and the harmony was so moving it made me cry.

We also were taken out for a sandbank picnic, which was epic, not only for the picnic, but also the snorkelling afterwards. These little sandbanks only appear for a few hours, but we were taken there, and the staff set up umbrellas, table, chairs, champagne, and a three course delicious lunch, then they picked us up before the sandbank reappeared.

Nukubati is without a doubt the most romantic place I have ever visited. I felt so far away from every care, in fact from the world. I felt we were seeing the traditional Fiji. I know we came looking for an all inclusive adult only hotel for our South Pacific Honeymoon, and what we found was the most romantic hotel in the South Pacific

Casa De Carmona Hotel Near Seville

Posted by Wealth Group | 11:03 AM | 0 comments »

The Casa De Carmona Hotel has been described as one of the most unique and elegant hotels in Spain. It is a lovingly restored 16th Century palace to a small hotel of character, with 33 bedrooms in the tiny ancient, hilltop, walled, picturesque town of Carmona, only 20 minutes outside Seville and 15 minutes from the airport, and to stay there is to stay in the house of a Spanish Nobleman with good taste.

Our first sight of Carmona, and the Casa de Carmona was in the early evening driving towards Seville. We saw what looked like an ancient walled city perched on a hill, and could instantly imagine it in medieval times holding off hordes of invaders.

Finding the hotel itself was a little tricky through the tiny streets of the town, but it was well worth the effort. I was very worried about parking and unloading our Chrysler Voyager, but very quickly I discovered that the Casa de Carmona is different. The narrow streets leads to what seems an impossible car park, but suddenly there was a porter to park my car, and a hotel boy, dressed in pantaloons and tights, who took our bags to our room.

A charming young lady receptionist will met us at the door of the hotel, and not only showed us to our room, but also around the hotel.

We stayed in room five which is closest to the pool and very romantic too. If you are looking for the ideal weekend retreat, perhaps to impress a lover, or even better a honeymoon stopover, then you have found your almost perfect destination. You can be assured of tactful privacy, in a place where refined good taste is almost a bye word!!

First impressions still remain vivid, and as you enter the Casa through a deep-red terracotta patio, which leads through to the reception area you realise this is different. A second patio, filled with plants in large pots and decorated in the same rich colours, forms the central focus of the hotel. There are lush plants, marble colonnades, fragrant flowers, the singing of birds and the gentle gurgling of fountains. A romantic walled patio with an exquisite formal garden features a picture-perfect swimming pool fed by five fountains.

This is an oasis of tranquillity, and whilst it may just lack a little of the luxuries of a top hotel, you will know you have found a gem.

After looking around the courtyards and gardens you will end up in the library and a complimentary drink from the free-bar. The greatest joy is that your chambermaid will unpack for you if you want, and you can leave your shoes outside your room to be polished, all you need to do is ask the receptionist.

The public rooms of the hotel are around the central patio, with a chess room, and library, which are a little formal, and could almost be a museum to the antiques. However the ?loggia? Next to the pool is altogether lighter and brighter. As well as everything you expect in a luxury hotel, you'll also find a variety of books and magazines to read, a VCR and music system to play and hundreds of films and CDs to enjoy. However this is definitely a hotel for people who like to relax in the courtyards, shaded from the sunlight, and smell the scent of the orange trees and the jasmine. The world of the 21st century will quickly seem far away.

If you want to see photographs of The casa de Carmona go to

Everywhere you will find the same aristocratic elegance, with carefully chosen pastel hues (predominantly pale blues and greens) and a generous range of antique furniture, including cabinet desks, ornate mirrors, brass lamps, and a tall hatbox. It's verging on the fusty, but a range of modern facilities keeps it real: hi-fi, air-conditioning, video, ambient lighting. A concealed mirrored door leads to an impressive large bathroom, with elaborate brass taps and wide shower heads, double sinks, green and terracotta walls. It would be fair to say the plumbing can gurgle, and the paint is a little faded, but somehow it all adds to the glamour.

The restaurant is situated in the space that used to be the stables of the palace. Only the life-size frescoes of eerily staring white horses remind you of its past.

The antique tables, chairs, glassware are all in keeping with hotel.

Breakfast: is between 8.00-11.30 am, and is a huge buffet of pastries, fruit, hams, cheese, and cereals, where you are attended by waitresses in country wench garb. Lunch is between1.30-4.30 pm, and Dinner 8.30-11.30 pm when there's plenty of choice of Andalucian appetizers, soups, seafood, stews, meats, tarts, fruit and creamy desserts

If you choose to dine out, the San Fernando (on the plaza of the same name) and La Ferrara (attached to the Hotel Alcazar de la Reina) come recommended.

Summary

The Casa De Carmona Hotel is just right for anyone seeking elegance and tranquillity, with a predominance of British and American couples.

Although one child under 12 stays free in the parents? Room, this hotel is only really suited to calm and sophisticated young adults, and definitely not for small children.

It's a great base for exploring Seville, and a week would not be too long

The Casa De Carmona will give you peace and quiet, great comfort. The town of Carmona is a gem, but realise as with many town centre hotels, there are no large gardens, but if it is a romantic dalliance you are after, and then look no further!!

Paraiso De La Bonita Riviera Maya Mexico

Posted by Wealth Group | 11:03 AM | 0 comments »

From the moment we arrived at the airport, to the wonderfully reassuring sight of a man, our man, standing with a board and our names were on it, it was impeccable service all the way. Our driver, in a lovely Lincoln Navigator, offered us not only water, but cold wet towels, and our choice of music for the short drive to Paraiso de la Bonita.

Now we are talking about an expensive resort here so we would expect great service from the staff at the Paraiso de la Bonita, and we were not disappointed. It would be true to say the service was attentive, and understated, in fact exactly what to expect from this standard of resort.

I have to say we were probably lucky because our visit was in May, and low season had arrived, so we were upgraded to a luxury suite with the works, not to put too fine a point on it. The suite had a king sized bed, and a plunge pool which was the icing on the cake. A great bathroom, with large tub and shower, good toiletries, nice sitting room.

The staff were excellent, in that they were very friendly although the service could be a little slow at times, despite the fact I understand the ratio is two staff to one guest. Anything you need they are more than glad to supply. They remember your name, bring you gifts each night on your pillow.

The beach is very sheltered by the reef, so there isn't much in the way of waves, and that I believe was the cause of the amount of seaweed, although the beach was cleaned every morning. Sadly the weed kind of prevented you from swimming off the beach.

To be fair we didn't use the beach much, because there is a large deck to lie out on, and you can swim off that and there is no seaweed.

The food at Paraiso was great. We were very impressed with the menus and enjoyed what they offered. The Guacamole and Risotto were especially good and fresh. The wine selection is good, and the variety of food throughout the day is great..

Free tea and coffee was served daily in the library which was a really cool place to chill out in, have a drink, read and use the internet for free.

The pool was surrounded by luscious plants and had a large jaccuzzi tub in as well comfortable sunloungers as wide as a double bed. The cocktails and service were great from the pool bar, which had a great atmosphere especially around sunset where people congregated for pre dinner drinks.

Overall the Paraiso de la Bonita is well worth staying at.

It is difficult to do justice to the La Casa Que Canta in Zihuatanejo , but for a start, you only have to think of no kids. no noises. No distractions...just pure beauty, and total relaxation. A perfect choice for a Mexico romantic honeymoon hotel.

You are met at the airport with transportation, and the drive doesn't take long, and on arrival you will be met by the staff with the usual drinks etc. It is always really nice to be met by an employee of a hotel at the airport, it makes you feel so good, especially watching others being herded onto buses.

Our accommodation was in El Mumullo, in a junior suite with a plunge pool . The suite was quite amazing, with such beautiful views. It is such a joy to have breakfast delivered to the suite, and then to eat it on the balcony looking out to sea.

If you get the chance stay at the private residence, because you will feel as if you are almost the only people at La Casa Que Canta , because when we were there we hardly saw anyone. This meant we could really relax and unwind. In addition it means you can choose when you want to be sociable!!

It needs to be added that the food is fantastic, and you'll not eat better fresh fish anywhere on the planet, and it will come as no surprise that the service is beyond reproach. Whatever you do, have dinner in your suite at least once, not only for the food but the service!!

Overall, La Casa Que Canta is exceptional, and, although expensive, I thought compared to competitors in the Caribbean and throughout Mexico that it offered pretty good value. A very good choice for a Mexico honeymoon hotel.

In all be sure to go out for dinner a bit as there are many good restaurants that can offer a little variety.

Sandy Gibson has authored a couple of articles for and recommends you check out some of the destination articles before booking your vacation

Firstly fly into Manzanilla and not Puerta Villarta because it is closer. You might want to rent a car here to give you a bit more freedom of movement during your stay at the fabulous El Careyes Beach Resort .

First of all, if this resort is not what you expected then it is your own fault for not doing your research. The El Careyes Beach Resort is not a place for people wanting night life and excitement, but it is a place for you if you enjoy good old fashioned service, and a bit of pampering. You will therefore appreciate that El Careyes does not come cheap, but can you think of anything of quality that does!!

It's a luxury resort with big beds, big bathtubs - some of them are really huge. But, the key is the private beach, restaurant outside and big beds facing the ocean where you can relax and fall asleep after a few drinks and a good meal.

We stayed in the ocean view suite and had a very large room with a hot tub on the balcony, and this was just the best place to enjoyi a nice sunset. The rooms were cleaned twice a day and the bed was turned down every night, some nights a nice gift was left on the bed for us to keep. Overall the rooms were clearly above average and the bed, huge and comfortable.

The service is what makes this resort so good. The staff seemed to know us by name almost immediately, and they had this knack of being invisible but always there when we wanted drinks or food.

Because the resort is quite remote, and not near any large towns, that can make it a little difficult if you like to eat out, but it has to be said if you wanted something that wasn't on the menu, then that didn't seem to be a problem for the kitchen.

You could venture out to a little fish hut close to the hotel where the food was excellent, the fish extremely fresh, and drinks remarkably cheap, and next to it is a small open bar, which has music, bonfires, and late night drinks, so try it out

The bottom line is, if you are looking for an amazing small secluded resort that will treat you like royalty, where there is not much to do other than sit by the pool while enjoying a few drinks, this is the place for you

The Palms On The Beach In Zanzibar

Posted by Wealth Group | 3:03 AM | 0 comments »

On the South Eastern coast of this exotic island you will discover an exclusive hotel that is both elegant and sophisticated. The Palms is an oasis…where rustling coconut palms, white powder sand and the warm waves of the Indian Ocean combine to create a stunning recluse for the discerning traveler.

The collection of only six beautifully designed villas offer luxurious comforts and amenities in an intimate setting with the most personal attention throughout your stay. If all of this sounds too good to be true, then read on!!

This is a small and intimate resort and the place to go if you want to be spoil. It is on a beautiful deserted beach.

It is the ideal place to finish off a honeymoon spent on safari, as it consists of only 6 luxurious bandas, so there can't be more than twelve people in the resort.

Our banda was incredible, with a floor space of over 1400 square feet, with a bedroom, living room, full ensuite bathroom, walk-in closet, extra room with its own en-suite bathroom & a large furnished terrace with a view of the Indian ocean.

Facilities include: Safe deposit box, satellite TV and DVD player, private outdoor Jacuzzi, mini bar, air-conditioning, telephone and standing bar with tea/coffee making facilities I should add the fantastic views, and service you can only dream about. I believe there are around three times as many staff as there are guests, but they were completely unobtrusive, but extremely attentive.

Now The Palms is right next door to The Breezes which is a large international type hotel with the facilities to match. The great thing is you can use all of their facilities, things like diving, tennis, sailing, and I got the feeling that when the staff knew we were from the Palms we even got priority!!! The best thing of all, was that we could use their facilities, and use their hotel, they couldn't use ours!!!

To be fair, you don't get accommodation, or luxury like this cheaply. It is expensive, it is very private, and by the way the food is simply delicious.

Gareth Jones has written and checks the website out regularly for exotic destinations

If you want to be surprised by quality, and you love being pampered, and you don't mind a long flight from Europe, and you like to name drop about having been to a place that almost nobody has heard of, then plump for The Princesse Bora Lodge on Ile Sainte Marie in Madagascar.

It would be fair to say I had never heard of it either, but as one of my dreams has always been to get close up and personal to whales, I am always looking for just a chance, and it was just by chance I found the Princess Bora Lodge, on the old pirate colony Island of Sainte-Marie .

You fly from Europe using Air France into Antananarivo (Tana), the lively Malagasy capital in the Central Highlands. On arrival proceed through customs and immigration and make your way to the domestic terminal for your flight to Sainte Marie.

When you arrive on the island airport you are picked up in a zebu chariot for the short journey to the Princesse Bora Lodge. In theory you could walk but it is a lot more fun this way.

You will be greeted perhaps by the owner himself, but certainly by uniformed staff. Although you will have read about this extraordinary hotel, you will still be surprised by how new, and beautifully designed it is. Madagascar is not renowned for its hotels, but this is the real exception.

Oh by the way, if you not only love whales, but want to get up real close and personal, then this must be the best place in the world to be between June and September, when literally hundreds and hundreds of humpback whales are in the waters offshore to breed.

Princesse Bora Lodge Ile Sainte Marie Madagascar is very heavily involved in the protection of the endangered humpback whales, and you will get fantastic opportunities to help in the scientific evaluations, as well as getting close enough to touch them.

To discuss the pros and cons of the Princesse Bora Lodge Ile Sainte Marie Madagascar almost seems churlish, because at this time of year visitors, and you will need to book early are there for the whales, not the great comfort and food.

You will however be very surprised by what you find when you eventually get there. This is a lovely place in quite beautiful surroundings

The accommodation is lovely, the ambience is lovely, the food, mainly seafood is quite splendid, the owner is worth the trip alone, and the whole ambience is amazing.

Go if you are a whalewatcher, go anyway if you are not.

Laluna Hotel Morne Rouge Grenada

Posted by Wealth Group | 11:03 AM | 0 comments »

Laluna Hotel Morne Rouge in Grenada is a delight. We stayed I think in cottage number 3, but anyway it was huge!!

It had a very comfortable King sized bed, in a large bedroom which had a built in bench along one wall.

There was a CD/tape player, TV and VCR, and you can get tapes through reception, not that we did, because it is just so nice to escape from that kind of thing. We'd have been quite happy for there to be no TV!!

There is a large closet off the bedroom, and then an open air bathroom. If you're not sure about open air bathrooms, then this will definitely help you to make up your mind.

You can get to the bathroom, from the bedroom, or the sun deck, and it a shower, from which you could look out onto the sea through two windows.

There was a separate loo. As you would expect the bathroom came fully equipped with vanity unit, but what made it especially nice was the shampoo, shower gel, body lotion, and the most incredible soft towels, all fluffy and expensive feeling!!

The sun deck was well equipped with a day bed, and masses of cushions, a deck chair, and a weird contraption that unfolded for sitting against to read.

The best feature of the deck was the jacuzzi with a built in drinks ledge to put your pina colada, and watch the sunset in decadent luxury!!

The beach was one slight disappointment, in that there was quite a strong brezze which blew the sand into everything, drinks, nibbles, eyes, noses, so we tended to sit on the deck by the pool on one of the padded chaise longues, where tha bar is very handily placed!!

We did however walk on the beach, which although not that large, was not busy due to the fact that the Laluna Hotel is the only hotel on the beach, just a handful of villas.

Finally the food was delicious, and that is a bonus, because we have spent an equivalent amount of money elsewhere, and LaLuna isn't cheap, and eaten much blander less appetizing food in our travels.

Much to recommend Laluna but mainly for honeymooners, couples, we don't see this as a family resort

One of The Best Romantic Affordable Ideas in Antigua is Cocos, and in my opinion it has to be the top all-inclusive honeymoon destination resorts in the Caribbean. It is undoubtedly one of the more secluded romantic Caribbean resorts

The first thing to say is that it is vital you ensure you splash out a little and take at least a superior seaview cottage, if not a premium. The standard cottages are very noisy because of the road, and a neighbouring hotel, which they are close to, whereas the superior, and premium are up the hill, and round the corner. They have huge balconies, and spectacular views with king sized beds. Their main drawback is the uphill walk, and the fact that with no air conditioning you tend to leave the doors open, and let the mossies in, and the nets were not too efficient!!

My idea of an all-inclusive hotel is not what I found here at Cocos. I imagined a full on loud large resort, which must be terrible, but what we got was the most laid back relaxing small beautiful rustic Caribbean idyll.

The attention we got from the staff from the moment we arrived until we left was extraordinary, this has to be the friendliest most attentive hotel we have ever stayed in.

The biggest problem everyone in the hotel suffered from were the sand flies, so if you are going you will need 100% Deet spray, but that itself doesn't protect you completely. Someone told us that they didn't like sun tan oil and so we bought some, threw away our creams and lotions, and the combination seemed to work well.

Why therefore is this one of the top all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean?

The answer is a combination of things, but mainly the secluded romantic setting, plus the fantastic staff who couldn't be faulted in any way at all.

Even the food which can be quite dire in the Caribbean, was quite superb, and we found plenty of choice, and when we did go a la carte it was extremely good value for money. We did enjoy the barbeque evening

I think though my favourite time was relaxing on a very comfortable sun lounger by the pool drinking cocktails brought by a happy smiling barman.

We will certainly return because we like to feel we have escaped from dreary 5 star hotels, and found authenticity, and this was just that.

Definitely Cocos is one of the most affordable romantic ideas in Antigua.

The Villa le Scale on Capri has been often voted as one of the very best European honeymoon destinations, and from my own experience it is not only all of that, it is also in the top 10 romantic hotels in Europe.

Capri in the summer is not for the faint hearted, and the hustle and bustle is quite overwhelming, but the second we went through the gates we were immediately in an oasis of calm and total luxury. I also loved the way the crowds on the street all stopped to look as the gates opened, it made me feel like a film star!!

Greeted with complimentary champagne, snacks, and towels, quickly shown to the Venetian Room, which certainly did not disappoint. It was beautifully furnished with a wonderful terrace, which we were to make great use of during our stay. It also had a Turkish bath which was well used by us.

A nice touch was the complimentary fresh fruit plate, indeed the first of many complimentary offerings we were to receive at the Villa le Scale. Already we could see why this is rated one of the best European honeymoon destinations, and one of the most romantic hotels in Europe.

We had breakfast on the terrace every morning amidst the perfumed jasmine and the gardens. I also had a couple of massages on the terrace-highly recommended!!

Lunch by the pool was another delight, but one of the outstanding memories were the staff who could not have been more helpful.

There are many nice hotels where the staff can be a little churlish when you want to eat out, but not so here, so we were able to enjoy the Aurora for dinner in Capri and da Paolina where you eat under the lemon trees.

Get Marcello to take you on a boat trip so you can swim in the grottos, and explore the island with a chauffered car.

Wait until the evening before you go into Capri, because all the day trippers will have gone, and it will be cooler.

All in all we loved the Villa le Scale, the quality of everything from the food, to the service was unsurpassed. We were made to feel like friends and not like paying guests

The Virgin Islands Top Resort for Honeymoons has to be Peter Island.

Any visitor here would describe Peter Island as one of the very top Caribbean beautiful small island vacations, with just cause too!!

To be on your honeymoon on Peter Island, is just a dream come true, because as well as being a top Caribbean resort, it is probably the most romantic hotel in the Caribbean.

Honeymoons should always be romantic, and whilst it has to be said that what Peter Island is not, is that it could never be described as one of the most romantic affordable honeymoon ideas, because it is definitely not cheap, however it is one of the two most romantic vacations spots for me.

The first being when my husband proposed to me!! ………………

Enough of that, now what about Peter Island as the most romantic hotel in the Caribbean?

This was our first trip to the Caribbean, although we are very familiar with top class resorts, beautiful white sand beaches, and delicious food, but we were not prepared for some of the most beautiful beaches on Peter Island. It really is a top resort in every sense of the word. The sea is so clean and clear, and if you enjoy snorkelling, which we do, then the beaches we tried snorkelling from were excellent. There were plenty of opportunities to indulge on the water as well with hobie cats, sunfish, windsurfing, sailing, sea kayaking.

The best thing about the beaches apart from the sand and the sea was the fact that there were never many people there. We mostly went to Deadman's Beach which runs from close to our room, past the beach restaurant

The island itself is a tropical paradise, palm trees, lush green vegetation, and VERY private. No streets, no taxis, no shops, no cruise ships, airports, time share salesmen, not even houses. This is a privately owned island, and it will stay that way – pristine, unspoiled paradise, and very very private.

The accommodation is probably understated, but we were lucky indeed to get an upgrade to a beachfront junior suite.

It was quite amazing, beautifully furnished, a huge bathroom with a double Jacuzzi, and shower. The view from this 1st floor suite was unforgettable, and incredibly you could walk out straight onto the beach without using the stairs or the front door.

I did like all the extras in the suite, the robes, flip flops etc, but the best thing to me was the fact that the radio in the room took CD's and I always take some away with me, so we could listen to our favourites when we were dressing or just relaxing.

Finally the fridge in the suite was well stocked, and the prices remarkably cheap.

I come now to the food, and with it the service, and this is really where Peter Island has rightly established itself as the Virgin Islands top honeymoon resort, because if ever a girl wants to be pampered it is on her honeymoon!!

Well the food at Peter Island is extremely good, and loving my food as I do, this was a foodie paradise. Breakfast, lunches down on the beach, dinners were all delicious, and I can't remember a bad meal.

The service was mostly superb, the staff went the extra mile many times for us, and were very good at remembering our names, and supplying us with things like snacks when we wanted them even if we had only casually mentioned the subject.

The total highlight for me was the spa. My husband and I both had massages for the first time, and we loved the pool at the spa with the best views.

Peter Island certainly lived up to its reputation as top Caribbean small island vacation, and will always be on my list of most romantic getaways, but as it is not cheap, whilst most romantic it was not my most affordable honeymoon idea – but who cares – I loved it!!

Don't Just Go Green: Here Comes The Red!

Posted by Wealth Group | 11:03 AM | 0 comments »

Ever wondered about the red juicy vegetable that sits pretty in your refrigerator! If your answer is negative, then start appreciating the unique qualities that they store within themselves. Within its core lies the antidote for one of the most threatening of ailments, cancer and heart attacks, to name a few.

This antidote is known as lycopene, a carotenoid, which lends red color to some of the vegetables like tomatoes, watermelons, etc. Besides, lycopene fights free radicals in the body, thereby preventing the occurrence of stroke, heart attack, or exercise-induced asthma. This is, however, only an introduction to the numerous benefits that lycopene has in store for us.

Tomatoes are considered to be one of the richest sources of lycopene, apart from the very good sources in red watermelons, and pink grapefruits. Lycopene is a carotenoid, red in color, which prevents oxidation of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, consequently reducing the risk of developing atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease. According to a study published in October 1998, daily consumption of tomato products provides at least 40 mg of lycopene, enough to substantially reduce low-density lipoprotein (LDL) oxidation. Increased risk of atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease is basically associated with high LDL oxidation. Just two glasses of tomato juice a day is a simple solution to attain the appropriate level of lycopene in the blood. Tomato juice is a highly recommended source of lycopene on account of its easy digestibility by the human body. Tomatoes, in the form of ketchup, soups, juice, or paste makes the lycopene easily absorbable on account of chemical changes undergone due to temperature changes.

Over the years, a number of researches have been conducted to test the cancer-preventing ability of lycopene. One of the most revolutionary instances of research on lycopene (in tomatoes or watermelons) and cancer was a large Harvard study released in 1995. It closely observed the eating habits of 47,000 men for six years. Those who had at least 10 weekly servings of tomato-based foods were up to 45 percent less likely to develop prostate cancer. In an analysis published (J Natl Cancer Inst 1999 Feb17; 91(4): 317-31), Edward Giovannucci of Harvard Medical School reviewed 72 studies that looked for a link between cancer risk and tomato-rich food. In all, 57-associated tomato intake with a reduced risk, and in 35 of these, the association was strong enough to be considered statistically meaningful.

Researches have also laid rest to the erstwhile claims that lycopene is essential only for men. According to the reports released by the University of Illinois, women with greater lycopene levels have a five-fold lower risk of developing precancerous signs of cervical cancer than women with lower lycopene levels. Articles published in the American Journal of Hypertension have come up with newer benefits of lycopene, especially in tomato and red watermelon. Researches suggest that lycopene can be a possible treatment for mild hypertension. To top it all, lycopene is excellent for the skin as it provides effective resistance against the harmful UV rays of the sun. So don't just let your tomatoes or watermelons sit prettily in the refrigerator! Cook it or juice it, but make sure to consume enough of it to resist all possible ailments. With the benefits of lycopene being acclaimed worldwide, green is no more the only healthy trend among diet freaks. The 'red' is out to rule!

Honey as a Medicine

Posted by Wealth Group | 3:03 AM | 0 comments »

What most people don't know is that honey, in addition to tasting good, has an antibacterial activity, due primarily to hydrogen peroxide formed in a slow-release manner by the enzyme glucose oxidase present in honey. Some honeys are no more antibacterial than sugar, while others can be diluted more than 100-fold and still halt the growth of bacteria. The difference in potency of antibacterial activity found among the different honeys is more than 100-fold.

Manuka Honey is the only honey that is tested for its antibacterial activity. It contains an additional antibacterial component found only in honey produced from Leptospermum plants found in New Zealand. Manuka Honey is more effective than other types of honey with hydrogen peroxide against some types of bacteria. For example, Active Manuka Honey is about twice as effective as other honey against Eschericihia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, the most common causes of infected wounds.

"The United States is a little behind in recognizing the amazing potential of Active Manuka Honey as a healing agent," says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International. "Countries in Europe and other parts of the world have been utilizing Manuka Honey for medicinal purposes for many years. Once it's more recognized in the U.S., Manuka Honey products will be in every medicine cabinet and every doctor's office."

Many medical professionals are now using Active Manuka Honey and are getting good results in patients with wounds that have not responded to standard treatment. It has also been found that Manuka Honey has significant healing properties in healing burns, ulcers, throat and eye infections and is particularly effective with destroying bacteria associated with peptic ulcers. It is also effective as a wound dressing, assisting the healing process.

Enjoy interior decorating with blinds for windows of any size or shape. From a skylight, to stately cathedral windows, sliding doors and narrow sidelights, blinds offer light control, energy efficiency and beauty.

Finding blinds for arches and circle windows can be a challenge. Although some interior decorators choose to leave them uncovered, both pleated and cellular blinds can be made to fit and operate in arched or round windows.

Motorized blinds for two-storey windows and high or not easy to reach places make sense, since cords would be difficult to operate. Enclosed mini blinds for side lights offer the option of cordless operation. Wooden blinds for vintage homes maintain the traditional look of hardwoods.

Versatile roller blinds are straightforward to install and come in an amazing assortment of fabrics including sheers, jacquard and satin weaves and floral prints. Purchase ready made roman blinds or make your own from kits with detailed instructions and patterns.

Fauxwood blinds manufactured from composites and vinyl are a more economical alternative to more pricey hardwoods. They are easy care and will not fade, split, crack or warp.

Pvc vertical blinds are a favorite choice for large windows or French doors. First-rate metal tracks ensure that the vanes move smoothly from left to right for a clear view.

Bamboo blinds offer a significant number of options and bring the beauty of nature in your home. Measure carefully for outside or inside mounted blinds to get the perfect fit whether it's for a casual den or formal area.

The Hotel Caruso in Ravello was one of the best Italian vacations and definitely the best small Italian hotel I have ever stayed in. The pictures we saw before travelling do not do justice to the views both inside and outside the hotel.

The view from our terrace was beyond price, possibly the most beautiful views we have ever seen anywhere.

We had a junior deluxe suite with a garden terrace, our own sunbeds and outdoor dining table, on which we had breakfast every morning. I'm not sure what we enjoyed more because the breakfasts were fantastic but again so was the view!!

The pool is extraordinary, and the photo just does not do it justice, and we spent one of our four days here not exploring just sitting at the pool, enjoying the view, complemented by a quite superb pizza and a bottle of wine.

The gourmet food in the restaurants was beautifully presented, and the tastes delicious.

One quite outstanding feature was the high quality yet understated service from the staff. Everyone from front of house to the room maid were quite superb.

By the way, the town of Ravello is quite delightful with lovely restaurants and bars, a beautiful square, great shops, and only a few minutes away. It is thankfully relatively unspoiled by the ravages of modern concrete blocks, and although the food in the restaurant was brilliant it is always nice to be able to escape outside to somewhere just as nice.

In my own experience the Hotel Caruso is one of the best small Italian hotels , and would be the ideal destination for a luxurious honeymoon in Italy. We couldn't find fault, and my husband tried hard, after reading a number of unfavourable reviews. Judgement should be reserved until you see for yourself, because it's hard to believe that the people writing them had stayed in the same hotel

I spent part of my honeymoon there, and had to conclude it must be one of the best European honeymoon destinations possible. You don't need to be on your honeymoon, taking your wife, or partner on a romantic vacation to Scotland , you need look no further than Inverlochy castle.

You wouldn't want to be staying here if you were looking for a cheap honeymoon destination that's for sure, but having said that, if you get the chance to stay at Inverlochy Castle, then take it.

If you can afford it, then take the King's Suite, not only is it very large, but beautifully appointed, very traditional, but still with modern touches such as plasma television and internet access. The bath is also huge, and the towels beautifully fluffy, and the walk in shower, which is something we both love.

We didn't go there for the room, but all the other touches from a hotel like this. It is one of the most beautifully restored Scottish castles, and arriving in the rain, an umbrella appeared, our luggage disappeared, and our car was parked. Then walking into chocolates and champagne in our suite was another nice touch

This was pampering, and it continued throughout our stay, from breakfast in our suite, where we looked out over Ben Nevis from one window, and the loch from the other. The food was to die for, and all our meals were quite superb.

It is fair to say that you need to be fond of a bit of hill walking, photography, just enjoying the scenery, because there isn't much entertainment around the area, but then we were on our honeymoon!!!

I think what we liked the most was how unobtrusive, and respectful the staff were, totally respecting our privacy.

Not only is Inverlochy Castle one of the very top luxury hotels in Scotland, it has to be one of the very best European honeymoon destinations

The Taj Fisherman's Cove gave us a terrific first impression, of cool, calm professionalism when we arrived.

Looking around we were initially impressed by the huge pool with swim up bar, the lush gardens, and our beachfront cabin.

The food was excellent, especially at the beach side restaurant, where the seafood was out of this world.

We were spoiled for choice with the breakfasts, there was food for all nationalities, from The English to Indian, and Japanese, you'd never get bored!!

We had a beach cabin with an outside shower, fantastic views out to sea, and a great sitting area to enjoy the views.

The beach was perfectly clean, and the sea didn't seem anything like as polluted as we had been told to expect. In fact the water was fine.

The longer we stayed, the more we felt that there was a slight degree of arrogance from the staff who were never impolite in any way, but they almost seemed smug. Having said that the service was excellent, although at times a little slow in the restaurants.

This is very much a 'children are welcomed hotel' at the weekends, so be prepared if you don't have any yourself for the descent of the masses, and I do means lot and lots. You could almost say overrun.

It also would be fair to point out that although everything was very clean, it was also quite dated. The bathrooms were almost antique, and on closer inspection the hotel definitely needs more than maintenance, it also needs updating, so that it comes up to the high levels of other Taj hotels we have stayed in. I suppose it is India, and it's nice to feel just a little of the fading colonial grandeur!!

The hardest thing of all was to get a booking confirmed at The Taj Fisherman's Cove, but keep persevering because it is worth it at the end.

Diamond Budget: Shoppers Buying Guide

Posted by Wealth Group | 3:03 AM | 0 comments »

How much money should you budget for an engagement diamond ring? There is no single answer to that question because everyone's situation is different. For some shoppers, $500 is the maximum they can spend and of course, there are celebrities who can and do spend millions on an engagement diamond ring. The diamond industry has set a guideline of two months salary for what to spend on the engagement ring. Interestingly, this is the guideline for the United States. In the United Kingdom, the guideline is one month's salary and in Japan, it is three months salary.

The budget that is right for the diamond shopper depends on a variety of issues and the wise shopper assesses budget considerations before making their purchase decision. In fact, carefully evaluating the budget before starting shopping will help ensure that an impulse purchase does not become a financial nightmare.

Here are some of the questions diamond shoppers should ask themselves before starting the diamond shopping process.

How much money do you have saved now and what can you expect to save before your target purchase date?

If you are going to finance part of the purchase price, where are you going to get the financing and what monthly payments can you afford? Do you have a job and is your job secure?

What other new expenses are you planning in the near future? Do you need to buy another car, how much and how soon is the wedding and honeymoon, are you planning to move to more expensive housing, do you have student loans or credit cards that need to be paid off? These major financial events often occur soon after a marriage proposal.

A key for a successful marriage is for a couple to work together in setting financial objectives and budget. However, often the engagement ring is a surprise and therefore is a big budget decision made without consulting the girlfriend.

Once the diamond shopper has determined their budget, some other considerations might influence what they actually spend on the diamond engagement ring. A man in love often has a desire to show the extent of his affection by spending more than he can really afford. While spending more money does not ensure a stronger relationship or commitment, the romantic impulse often overwhelms logic for the man who has decided on who he wants to take as his partner in life.

Pressure on the diamond budget can also result from feeling guilty if the woman has indicated that a large and therefore expensive diamond ring is important to her. If family, friends, or associates have large diamonds, there is intense peer pressure to compete on diamond size even when there might be great disparities in disposable income or age. The pressure to prove his love with a more expensive diamond than he can afford can lead to not only financial hardship but also friction in the relationship.

Once the target budget has been set, the shopping challenge is to find the best diamond that meets the diamond shopper's requirements while staying within the budget. While the diamond is usually the biggest portion of the ring's price, shoppers need to remember the mounting cost and applicable sales tax.

There are many ways to reduce the price of the diamond engagement ring in order to stay within the budget. Education and research can help determine the optimal combination of size, quality, beauty and convenience for just the right diamond ring. Shoppers who walk into a jewelry store and purchase based on impulse and do not do their due diligence in advance, will likely pay a high price premium and run the risk of making an expensive mistake in terms of quality and beauty.

Shimla: Hillstation in India

Posted by Wealth Group | 7:03 PM | 0 comments »

Shimla, the summer capital of the erstwhile British Raj is the beautiful hill station nestling in the cradle called the Himalayas . Inhabited by rosy cheeked, light footed Himachalis, this city commands a majestic view of the mountains and occasional visits from low slung clouds. To get to this heaven in the mountains, the simplest way would be by air while the railway and road transport have their own pros and cons. A walk on the famous Mall Road flanked with trinkets and garments on either side, a rickety bus ride along the curves of the mountains, a cable car that takes you to the heights of another gargantuan mountain top, a meal fit for a king at the endless choices of hotels and restaurants or an evening at the Gaiety Theatre where you can re visit the grandeur of the past; all these are what form the essence of Shimla and more. If you think it all ends here, think again; Shimla keeps its tourists fresh with the cool weather in summers and with a healthy warm glow from within in winters while the outdoor activities keep you ready and raring to go. Skating, trekking, golf and animal safaris are what you could keep yourself occupied with. All in all, Shimla is a paradise for honeymooners, families and even a group of friends who want a weekend break from one of the nearby cities.

If you fall in any of these categories, you could avail the many travel and accommodation opportunities being offered by MakeMyT With new flights under way by Air Deccan you can avail the lowest and most economical airfares on MakeMyT which will run between Shimla and Delhi on a regular basis thus allowing fast and comfortable travel to one of your favourite destinations. On a hot summer day, a juicy slice of watermelon is all what is needed to be at your refreshing best. A delectable fruit, with water content of over 90% makes watermelon the favorite thirst quencher for all. It is believed to be first cultivated in Egypt sometime before the 10th century. The shortage of water supply in this region made watermelon the most preferred thirst quencher. Later on, it became an instant favorite among the people of other countries in the Mediterranean region as well. Sometime in the 10th century, watermelons were first cultivated in China. Over the period of time, the rising demand of watermelon led other countries like Russia, Turkey, Iran and United states to start its commercial cultivation. However, besides being just a thirst quencher in the hot and humid days, the manifold nutritional benefits of watermelon makes it an all time favorite for daily meals and snacks.

Watermelon serves as an excellent source of vital vitamins like vitamin C, A, B6 and B1. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that protects body cells from damage by free radicals. Damage to the body cells may lead to serious health complications like cancer and chronic heart diseases. Consumption of watermelon reduces the risk of such diseases. Apart from that it regenerates the vitamin E supplies in the body and also improves iron absorption. Watermelon can be very helpful for people experiencing slow wound healing, frequent colds and lung related problems. Vitamin A, on the other hand has an overall positive effect on the body. It improves the eyesight, fights viral infections and promotes growth of cells. Vitamin B6 and B1 helps in fulfilling the pyridoxine and thiamin requirements of the body.

Hyperthyroidism and Hypokalemia are two illnesses that are caused due to potassium deficiency in the body. Watermelon is a good source of potassium and its proper intake helps in maintaining a balance in the potassium levels within the body. Proper potassium level helps in water and acid balance in blood and tissue cells, facilitates muscle building and transmits electrical signals between various cells and nerves.

Watermelon is high on lycopene content. Lycopene is an antioxidant that reduces the risk of cancer and some other chronic diseases. Frequent consumption of watermelon facilitates proper supply of lycopene that in turn reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases, certain types of cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis and even male infertility.

A combination of low calorie, low fat and zero cholesterol diet leads to a healthy lifestyle. Watermelon is low on calorie, naturally low in fat and absolutely cholesterol free.

The nutritional benefits of watermelon are immense. It serves not only as a thirst quencher but also as a vital source of essential minerals that are needed to stay fit and healthy. Watermelons are truly a delicious way to a healthy lifestyle.

The use of bee products for medicinal purposes is as old as the tradition of beekeeping itself. The fact is bees actually brought out not only honey but also a few other important medicinal foods. However, for the most part, these products have been under appreciated or under utilized in the modern world.

Here are four wonderful medicines from the beehives that experts believe warrant our attention.

Medicine No 1- Honey

As food for the bees, honey is the second greatest energy booster, surpassed only by dates. It also contains six times the fuel value of milk and even higher fuel value than meat, fish, eggs, grain or your leafy green vegetables.

During the Roman Empire, honey was so valued it was often used instead of gold to pay taxes. Several holy books have also highlighted the use of honey as medicine. The Koran has described honey as a "medicine for men" while in the Old Testament, the story of how Jonathan use honey to restore his strength in battling the Philistine was also told.

Used in treating wounds, honey is so effective in absorbing moisture, it effectively starve bacteria from a suitable breeding ground. Thus, it is not surprising why the Egyptians use it as a surgical dressing and Hindus and Chinese use it for curing smallpox.

Because of its versatility, honey has also been used in treating anemia, sleeplessness, constipation, insomnia, and bronchitis or treat diphtheria.

Medicine No-2: Royal Jelly

Royal jelly is the only food eaten by the queen bee. This rare, amber colored jelly is fed to bee larvae for the first three days but after the period, only the queen larvae is fed this special jelly.

In Africa, this easily spoiled royal food is believed to preserve youthfulness and cure all illnesses. And all these claims may have some basis. Royal jelly makes the queen mature more rapidly, and grows to nearly double the size of ordinary bees. While normal bees live for only forty days, the queen lives for around eight years.

German scientists, studying the health benefit of royal jelly found that it's extremely rich in pathogenic acid, biotin and nucleic acids – the very substance that helps avoid neuritis, indigestion, premature ageing or premature gray hair.

Medicine No. 3 – Pollen

Pollen is the male portion of the flower. It's actually a powder like material that is produced by the anthers of flowering plants and gathered by bees back to their nests.

Stored as food, bee pollen is also another age-folk medicine that has been mentioned in the great ancient writings of China, Greece, Russia and Persia.

It was told that athletes in training for the ancient Olympic games were fed large quantities of pollen-laden-honey before their events. When the Chinese was plagued by famine, the poor peasants survived by consuming cakes made of pollen and honey. Apart from that, Arabs who had to travel for a long period through the barren deserts also make a similar use of pollen they gather from date trees.

The number of allergy to pollen that plagued the modern world could also be significantly reduced if people start taking pollen as food or medicine. Research shows that natives who eat pollen are almost immune to hay fever, asthma or other respiratory diseases commonly associated with it.

At the moment, scientists have been trying to reproduce bee pollen's effect in the laboratory. However, its chemical makeup is so complex that synthesizing it artificially has eluded even the best of modern machines.

Medicine No – 4 Propolis

Bees are very vulnerable to bacterial and viral infections. Thus, they collect a substance from wounded trees called propolis as their medicine. At their hives, the propolis is used to patch up cracks and seal the hive, effectively sterilizing it from any diseases.

It is believed that Hippocrates, the father of medicine, prescribed the use of propolis to help heal sores and ulcers, internally and externally. Unlike penicillin and other drugs, propolis is always effective. If used alongside antibiotic, propolis have been shown to increase the antibiotic's effect by up to 100 %.

Another benefit of propolis is in dental care. Propolis mouthwash used after an oral surgery appears to shorten the healing time. A study done in 1991 showed that rats given propolis in their drinking water got less caries compared to other rats. Another study done in 1986 proposed propolis as a valuable subsidiary treatment for gum infection and plague.

In summary, all four products from the beehives actually warrant a lot of our attention. They are not only act as food but also as medicine – curing all sorts of diseases suffered by mankind.

If only we listen to Hippocrates advise to "let your food be your medicine", a lot of diseases will simply cease to exist. Simply because our body is too strong for them. So honey, what are you waiting for?

Discovering the Best Honeymoon Locations

Posted by Wealth Group | 3:03 AM | 0 comments »

I work as a travel agent so a lot of folks are always asking me about the best honeymoon locations. It would have been easy to their questions if I could narrow it down to a list of ten. Everyone assumes that I know what fits their taste the best just because I'm a travel agent. Nonetheless, there are a lot of romantic destinations all over the world. The best honeymoon vacation spots can be found in almost every country.

Finding the ideal honeymoon location is simply a matter of taste. For instance, the ones with the best hotels are the best honeymoon locations if you are a fan of luxury. You may also consider bed and breakfasts, five-star hotel packages, and cruise ships. I also have clients who considered luxury spas as one of the best honeymoon locations.

I usually recommend a hot spring when I sense that my clients are looking for luxury. You will be pampered in the majority of these wonderful places. You will be spoiled rotten by the massages, free gourmet meals each day, and the opportunity to sit around and soak up the mineral water for hours.

Adventurous couples will have a different idea of the best honeymoon locations. Do you consider yourselves an adventurous couple? If you do, then you will be interested in mountain climbing and sailing. You might even be able to take a trip to the Arctic if you plan it out right.

Places that are located far outside the comforts of the modern world are the best honeymoon locations for the athletic, young couple. A lot of couples take their honeymoons in places where survival is by no means certain. This is just confirms the fact that different people have different tastes.

The romantic cities of the world are by far the most common choices for the best honeymoon locations. The majority of couples want to take their honeymoons in Paris, in Rome, or on the Spanish Riviera. These cities are considered by many as the best honeymoon destinations in the world.

Perhaps this is due to the fact that these world famous cities offer everything that a couple would want. Couples can enjoy luxury accommodations, great sightseeing, the opportunity to experience a foreign culture, and a touch of adventure in these fascinating cities.

When we think of weddings, we typically think of holding the ceremony in a church or other special event building. However, celebrity couples like to do things a little differently. That's why back in July 2006, Scott Adams, best known as the creator of the lovable office worker Dilbert, married his girlfriend, Shelly Miles, on a yacht in San Francisco Bay. That's not the picture most of us imagine of a wedding.

Vicars and Captains

Adams and Miles had been dating for two years before they exchanged vows in front of more than 150 guests on the yacht. In fact, the yacht's captain was the one who performed the ceremony. After the couple's first kiss as man and wife, the guests were able to enjoy the reception, including dancing, on board the yacht.

But if getting married on a boat isn't interesting enough, Scott and Shelly also decided to do something unique for their honeymoon, too. They're taking a Caribbean cruise. Now, you may be saying there's nothing unique about that destination and you're right. However, Scott and Shelly are taking both of their parents and Shelly's children along with them on the cruise. Instead of viewing their honeymoon as a romantic getaway, it's become a family event! That's definitely not what most of us expect.

Great Ideas from the Sea

And that brings us to what us ordinary people can learn from Scott and Shelly's wedding and honeymoon plans.

First, when you're planning the location of your wedding and/or reception, don't limit yourself to just traditional spots. There's no law that says you must get married inside of a church. There's also no law that says you have to invite hundreds of people to your ceremony or after-party. The most important part of choosing a location is what is going to make you and your spouse-to-be happy.

In the case of Scott and Shelly, that location was on board a yacht. For you, that location might be botanical garden, a museum, a beach, a hotel lobby, a zoo, or even a church.

Second, remembering your family is an important part of every wedding. While Scott and Shelly are showing how important family is to them by taking them along on the honeymoon, you can find other ways of expressing your parents' and your children's importance to you. For example, you could include your parents in the wedding party – remember Jay McGraw, Dr. Phil McGraw's son, had his father act as his best man during his wedding ceremony. Your children could also be included either as flower girls and ring bearers or as bridesmaids and groomsmen – depending on their age.

Special Gifts

Another way to show your appreciation to your family is to purchase them a special gift. You and your spouse-to-be should work together to select the perfect gift, possibly something engraved with a message from the two of you, that your parents will treasure forever. Of course, if you don't have the funds for a pricey gift, write a poem or sing a song to them at the wedding or reception. Trust me, they'll never forget the gesture.

At the end of the day, you don't have to have your wedding on a yacht or take your whole family on a cruise in order to have a unique ceremony or to show your love for the people who helped you become the person you are today. All you need is an open mind and a sincere desire to express your love.

Honeymooning on a Cruise Ship

Posted by Wealth Group | 3:03 AM | 0 comments »

Getting married? There are plenty of wonderful destinations for your honeymoon. But how are you gone get there? Did you ever think of a cruise ship? Believe me - it's the best way to start your honeymoon. In fact it is the best way to start your marriage!

Every year, thousands of couples get married. If you're planning your wedding, it is likely that you'll plan a honeymoon as well. Honeymoons are often looked upon as vacations. In a sense, they are. But there are two major differences. Number one: romance is in the air. Number two: no kids. The bride, the groom and plenty of time. That makes honeymoons fun, exciting and memorable.

As previously mentioned, you have a number of different options when it comes to planning your honeymoon. Many newlyweds schedule their honeymoons at popular beaches, ski resorts, or other secluded areas. Did you know that you can also have a honeymoon aboard a cruise ship? Cruise ships are increasing in popularity, but still many individuals do not consider them as a vacation option. And that's a shame.

You'll be amazed!

One of the reasons why cruise ships are rarely thought about when selecting a vacation destination, let alone a honeymoon, is because of their cost. A cruise is considered to be expensive. Well, I´ll let you in on a little secret. They don´t have to be. The competition in the cruise line industry is killing. If you play your card smart, you can be the one that benefits. Do a Google search on discount cruise ship tickets and you´ll be amazed!

Those discount tickets are usually sold fast. So here is the rule. First of all decide where you wane go and set your budget. Then sit down and do your homework on the computer (or with the help of a travel agent). Once you see an offer that fits your needs, do not hesitate. Jump on it and celebrate. You just made a dream reality!

Take it from a pro

Let me raise another question. Are cruises actually pricy? It is important to examine the activities available onboard and the length of the cruise. The longer the cruise and the more services available, the more expensive tickets are likely to be. If you take the time to figure out all the services that are included and the cost of overnight accommodations, you may see that cruises aren't all that expensive after all. Do the math and - again - you'll be surprised.

Once you've made the decision to spend your honeymoon onboard a cruise liner, you'll have to book reservations. When examining cruise ship destinations, look for the possibility for romance. As your honeymoon is supposed to be a romantic and relaxing time, you'll want to select destinations that will keep that spirit alive. Those destinations are all over the world. But take it from a pro: for newlyweds the Caribbean is the place to go. There are over 7.000 islands. Pick a couple. No matter what islands you'll be sailing for, there will be sandy white beaches, the friendliest people you can think of and lots of rum. You can't go wrong here.

Amorous and intimate

Before I forget: take a close look at the type of cruise you select. Most cruise lines have ships that are targeted to seniors, risk seekers or families. Stay away from the last two mentioned. Remember: you are searching a private, amorous and intimate setting. Hard to find whit kids all over the swimming pool or adventure junkies bungee jumping from the upper decks...

Why is it when planning your wedding - you will notice most wedding arrangements involved are nearly always directed towards the brides needs. Some women tend to forget that there is a bridegroom who needs looking after i.e. wanting to look his best (handsome) on the same day as the bride is to look her prettiest.

Well guys when your wedding plans are in motion - I am afraid it is the bride that comes first in most cases, however - you fellas need to look on the bright side because, when the love of your life stands along side you at the altar dressed all in white or ivory and her sparkling tiara holds her wedding veil in place, it is then you will realize when planning your wedding took place, your wife-to-be made every effort to make this day special for you - just by looking radiantly beautiful.

When planning your wedding it is best for the couple to be together when finalizing any decisions on who is to attend the marriage service (ceremony) i.e. guest list, or where the reception is to be held or where the honeymoon destination will be. It makes sense to see eye to eye on specific matters on particular events so as not to argue before the marriage vows are pledged. It is not a good start to a happy marriage (relationship) should you and your future husband - disagree on matters when planning your wedding.

Careful planning right down to the last little detail will entail applying some common sense on to your wedding-to-do-list. Wisdom also prevails at a time like this "Learn by others mistakes" for example not to go over your budget. Spending more than what you can afford can be disastrous. Planning well ahead of time will and can surely make your wedding day an extra special occasion.

Cost effective weddings can be just as grand as one you had paid through the nose for.

Take the bridal gown a very costly wedding accessory of which can set you back hundreds of pounds even reaching a thousand and over - of which you only get to wear once, so bear this in mind and consider buying a second hand wedding dress. A used bridal gown will have only been worn once - so you could say the dress is as good as new. When planning your wedding, and counting the pennies is a top priority then down size on how many tiers of wedding cake is to sit as a centre piece on the wedding breakfast table.

Wedding cakes are baked with an assortment of ingredients - rich in taste and texture, but not to every ones taste or liking, so therefore to please all the wedding guests and your pocket - why not have a sponge cake decorated in piped cream and edible tiny rose buds. By doing this you will have filled the bellies of all as well as your pocket. The savings from not having a caked baked with mixed fruit i.e. orange/lemon peel, marzipan etc can be put to better use. Another money saving idea in getting you to the church on time is to consider swapping the vintage Rolls Royce to a smaller vehicle adorned with ribbons.

Remember -once the bride lifts up her gown above the ankle displaying her leg and neat fitting brocade wedding slipper getting out of the car - all eyes will be on her and not the transport she arrived in.

The bridal bouquet is an important accessory of which you will have had on you're to do list when planning your wedding but however this also can set you back a few bob. Why not create your own; a hand held bunch of fresh spring flowers or summer roses is very attractive. Hold a clutch bag decorated in bloom buds or hold a bible.

When planning your wedding remember that common sense will have you jetting off into the sunshine on honeymoon to the destination of your dreams with the extra pennies you saved.

Plan a Honeymoon in a Private Villa

Posted by Wealth Group | 3:03 AM | 0 comments »

When celebrities get married and go on a honeymoon, they most often stay in private villas. You may think this is something that only the fabulously wealth can afford, but that is simply not the case.

Spending your honeymoon in a private villa can be more affordable than you think. Like any other accommodations, there is quite a range of prices depending on the size and amenities of the location.

Planning a honeymoon in a private villa is often not difficult. This is because most villas offer some sort of package deal where you can get food service, as well as tour guides to take you around the area. Tuscany villas are some of the most beautiful in the world, as they combine beautiful historical architecture with all of the modern amenities.

In fact, picking what amenities are important to you is pretty much the hardest decision you will need to make when planning your villa honeymoon. You will be pleasantly surprised at how many amenities are available to you when you stay in a private villa. Villas in Tuscany often feature private pools, historical furnishings, and beautiful views. If you enjoy the outdoors, you'll find villas that are located near the water, skiing or golf courses. Of course, the activities will vary depending on where you stay, as Tuscany villa rentals might offer things that villas in another area may not.

You will want to decide whether you want maid service and whether you plan to utilize a chef to prepare your meals. Some villas come with kitchens that you can use, while others might just have a fridge or microwave. If you require any accommodations such as handicap access, make sure you call ahead or check with your travel agency to make sure your needs are met. Some villas allow you to bring your pets while others do not. If you are a smoker, you'll want to check on the smoking policy of the villa as well. Do you need to get online while you are away? Check into what internet access is available.

Once you have an idea of the activities you want to do and the amenities you need, you can start looking at pictures of various villas. Villas vary greatly both in size and in the number of people they will accommodate. For this reason, they are good for private honeymoons as well as housing large families. If you have a destination wedding, you might consider renting a villa for your guests and then a separate one for you and your spouse. Either way, staying in a villa can offer you unmatched privacy and exquisite accommodations in a beautiful setting. It will help provide the perfect start to your new life together.
